Too busy to be healthy? You're not! Literally everyone is busy with work, family, friends, hobbies and life. It all comes down to how you prioritize your time. But if you want to work smarter, and not always harder, we’ve got you covered! Read on for some of our best tips to stay healthy while you hustle and grind.
Create A Schedule
Staying healthy while busy requires a little planning and thinking ahead. At the end of each night, take a few minutes to decide on the important tasks that you want to complete the next day and put them into your daily planner. This will help you stay focused and prioritize what’s important. And don’t forget to schedule healthy habits such as exercise, sleep and self-care activities!
Meal prep is essential if you're short on time! Dedicate some time every week to plan and batch-cook healthy meals that you can have at the ready. You can easily reheat these meals when you don’t have time to cook from scratch and take them on the go to avoid poor decisions in a pinch. It's all about making it less likely that you will resort to processed foods when you come home hungry and tired, or takeout when you're running around. Move Throughout The Day
Can’t find time to smash a workout? Instead of having a designated fitness routine, incorporate movement throughout your day. Moving consistently is a great way to stay active if you can’t get to the gym or roll out the mat at home. Try some of these suggestions:
HIIT workouts are great if you are strapped for time. The higher pace, and less rest periods, means that you get many of the benefits of longer workouts but in far less time. You'll build muscle while simultaneously burning calories, and you can do them anywhere. Think about it this way, half an hour is only 2% of your day – you're gonna tell us and yourself that you can't dedicate just that little bit to your health?! Push yourself for 15 to 30 minutes and you’re all done!
Without sleep, you can’t function optimally! The amount of sleep you get has an impact on your body in so many ways. For example, it can affect your energy level, cravings, and your ability to focus on a task. If you want to be productive, healthy and function at full capacity, you have to get a good night's rest of at least 7 hours. You can read all about how to optimize sleep here.
Staying healthy should always be a priority. When you are healthy, life just becomes easier and more fulfilling. Don’t neglect yourself. Eat healthy, exercise, connect and rest. Your body will thank you for it!
