Worried about putting on a swimsuit this summer? It’s no fun feeling insecure about how you look. But we'll say this before we go any further – you're good just how you are! Any season of the year, you are incredible because every body is a summer body. And while that won't ever change, we are also ok with you wanting to feel better, being healthier and doing something about it.
So, if that means getting ready for the pool or beach this summer, then we have the tips to help you feel confident, see results and hit your summer body goals.
WARNING: you might like these tips so much you decide to adopt them all year-round.
Lift Weights
Ladies, lifting weights will NOT make you bulky! Instead, strength training will help you build lean muscle mass and burn fat. This will help to increase muscle definition and give you a more toned look. More muscle will also increase your metabolism, making it easier to maintain a swimsuit body! Check out some of our strength training workouts and start lifting before summer arrives!
Diet
Diet plays a significant role in your body composition. The ideal bikini body diet is one that minimizes fat gain and water retention. Consuming whole foods and limiting processed junk foods will help to reduce fat gain. You should also make sure that you are consuming adequate amounts of protein to keep you satiated and prevent cravings. Refined carbohydrates and foods that are high in salt can cause bloating and make you retain water. Therefore, if you are planning to wear a bikini, it’s a good idea to avoid foods such as bread, pastries, chips, and takeout.
Fix Your Posture
This is the simplest thing you can do to feel confident in a swimsuit. When you consciously stand up taller, you engage your core muscles. This instantly tightens up your stomach and makes you look slimmer. Having good posture also makes you look and feel more confident. So strengthen up, push those shoulders back, chin up and flaunt it!
Hydrate
We never leave our homes without our water bottles, especially when we are getting our bodies prepared for summer. Water helps to flush toxins and excess sodium from your body, preventing bloating and water retention. Hydrating adequately can also help to curb hunger and prevent excess calorie consumption. Struggling with hydration? You’re in luck! We’ve written about this before.
Just Do It!
Want to know the secret to getting your body prepped for a swimsuit? Self-love! Society constantly puts pressure on us to look a certain way. But we all come in different shapes and sizes. Stop worrying about what people think and don’t compare yourself to others. Instead, wear a swimsuit that you love and that makes you feel confident. You deserve it!
Getting swimsuit ready requires a combination of healthy habits, self-care practices, and a positive mindset. Focus on taking care of yourself physically and mentally instead of trying to look a certain way. Your body is unique and beautiful in its own way. Embrace your body and all that it can do, and don't let negative self-talk hold you back from enjoying the summer. With these tips and a healthy dose of self-love, you'll be ready to rock!
